Common questions
What score do I need to pass the real Washington written test?
Real test: 40 multiple-choice questions, at least 32 correct (80%) to pass. A passing score stays valid for two years. No statewide time limit is published by DOL (some testing locations use a one-hour limit for the paper version); our simulator's timer is a practice aid. Our exam simulator uses the same format and pass mark, so a pass here is a good sign for test day.
Where do I take the real Washington test?
At an approved driver training school or testing location — Washington DOL sets the standards, and its offices generally do not give the test. Bring the documents and fees listed on the official website, and confirm current requirements before you go — they change from time to time.
Are these the real test questions?
No. Real exam questions are not published by any state. Ours are original practice questions written from the official Washington Driver Guide, covering the topics the real test draws from: Washington default speed limits (25 city / 50 county / 60 state highway), DUI and the E-DUI electronics law, cannabis limits, school buses, Move Over and emergency zones, and intermediate licence rules for teens.
How should I prepare?
Read the official handbook once through, then practise here until you pass the exam simulator twice in a row. Use practice mode to review the explanations for every question you miss.
