Common questions
What score do I need to pass the real British Columbia knowledge test?
Real test (passenger vehicle / Class 7 learner): 50 multiple-choice questions, at least 40 correct (80%) to pass, with a maximum of 45 minutes. The test ends as soon as you have answered enough questions correctly — or missed too many to pass — and you may skip each question once and return to it. Our simulator draws all 50 questions and uses the same 40-correct bar and 45-minute limit. Our exam simulator uses the same format and pass mark, so a pass here is a good sign for test day.
Where do I take the real British Columbia test?
At any ICBC driver licensing office. Bring the documents and fees listed on the official website, and confirm current requirements before you go — they change from time to time.
Are these the real test questions?
No. Real exam questions are not published. Ours are original practice questions written from the official Learn to Drive Smart guide, covering the topics the real test draws from: B.C. speed limits (50 km/h in built-up areas, 30 km/h school and playground zones), graduated licensing rules for L and N drivers, zero tolerance for alcohol and cannabis, Move Over law, winter tires, and sharing the road with cyclists and pedestrians.
How should I prepare?
Read the official guide once through, then practise here until you pass the exam simulator twice in a row. Use practice mode to review the explanations for every question you miss.
