Common questions

What score do I need to pass the real Pennsylvania written test?

Real test: 18 multiple-choice questions covering traffic signs, Pennsylvania driving laws and safe-driving practices; at least 15 correct (about 83%) to pass. There is no separate road-signs score — sign questions count inside the 18 — and if you fail you may retake the test the following business day. PennDOT publishes no time limit; our simulator's timer is a practice aid. Our exam simulator uses the same format and pass mark, so a pass here is a good sign for test day.

Where do I take the real Pennsylvania test?

At any PennDOT Driver License Center. Bring the documents and fees listed on the official website, and confirm current requirements before you go — they change from time to time.

Are these the real test questions?

No. Real exam questions are not published by any state. Ours are original practice questions written from the official Pennsylvania Driver's Manual, covering the topics the real test draws from: Pennsylvania speed limits (including 15 mph school zones), DUI and the under-21 zero-tolerance law, junior licence rules, school buses, the Move Over law, the points system, parking distances and winter driving.

How should I prepare?

Read the official handbook once through, then practise here until you pass the exam simulator twice in a row. Use practice mode to review the explanations for every question you miss.
